Seagrass – from £22.90 per sq metre
Grown in coastal meadows on the banks of Vietnamese rivers, Seagrass is as textural and tropical as it gets. Effortlessly uplifting in relaxing rooms, seagrass weaves light into everyday life as wall-to-wall carpet or as a bespoke rug or runner.
Jute – from £34.00 per sq metre
Hand-harvested from the tiliaceae plant and soft as Goan sand, jute’s as natural and uplifting as golden sunshine. Soft and silken in tight bouclé or herringbone, it’s ideal for relaxing rooms in broadloom or as a rug. Spread the serenity around like love and laughter.
Coir – from £19.20 per sq metre
Full of natural goodness, coir comes crafted from Indian coconut husk fibres softened in sea water. Hearty and homely, rich and resilient, coir is husky, fibrous and tactile. Lay it wall-to-wall for a golden, multi-hued sense of well being or have it made into a bespoke rug.
Natural Flooring Irregularities
Due to the way the product is grown and produced no colour match between the sample and the floor covering supplied or between rolls can be guaranteed.
Natural fibres by definition may not be entirely regular and small knots or lumps may occur. These can often be trimmed with small sharp scissors, but it is important not to sever a complete weft or warp yarn as this may affect the inherent strength of the weave.
With the natural quality of the floor covering it can mean that the weft yarns may not lay straight when laid on the floor. This is an inherent characteristic of the material and adds to the aesthetic appeal.
To secure the flooring it has to be fully adhered to the sub floor or a recommended underlay to help prevent any movement in the material. Movement of the material is always a possibility depending upon the site conditions at the time. ie moisture content or changes in room temperature or moisture levels.
With the way the weave is constructed it is not possible to produce a clean cut edge on the ends of the material when fitting. There is no pile on this flooring to hide any gaps at the edges. Every effort will be made to fit the material in the neatest way possible.
This product can be fitted on stairs but with no pile it can leave slight gaps at the sides and over time it can stretch and go baggy. Runners with binding will show crease marks and puckering when laid as a rug or fitted.
As the yarn is a natural material it will darken or lighten with age depending on the material used and the site conditions. These products are not stain resistant. Naturals are very susceptible to staining.
Please remember that these are natural products and that even Nature is not always perfect. This part of this products appeal.
